AGENDA

Introduction:

from: Joan Preval – jspreval@juno.com

  1. BAYS Website – www.bays.org. Where you report games and submit pay sheet. Paul will explain and have handout for refs.
  2. Bays games - positioning on the field in general but particularly during 8v8 games where the offside rule can happen.
  3. In-town and U-8 games - make sure you use your whistle and hand signals. Use in-town pay sheet and following instructions within the box area. Games are running time. Ask coaches about any medical problems his players may have particularly during hot and humid game days (asthma attacks). During U-8 league games watch for pass backs to goalies.
  4. In-town and U-8 League game reports must be in the hands of ASC treasurer no later than August 2, 2009 for final spring payment. After that date checks will be mailed when fall season ends.
  5. Rain Out Procedure – Call hotline 781-641-4085. Will also be on posted on ASC website www.arlingtonsoccerclub.com
  6. Team Rosters (Get 2 copies one for home and away teams)
  7. Continue to enforce Zero Tolerance Policy (particularly in BAYS) but also be firm in the in-town program. Should coaches have questions…answer them before match starts. Have teams on the opposite side of fields. Shake hands with coaches at the conclusion of your game. Stay on the field and make sure that teams shake hands with respect and good sportsmanship following the match. In case you issue a red or yellow card email Paul and Joan immediately. Fill out the incident report while it is fresh in your mind.
  8. Referee Uniforms – go to ASC website for link to www.scoresports.com, Proper appearance is a must. Tuck shirt in.
  9. All ASC referees are recommended to have linesmen flags – use them. Have coaches get parents in the in-town program to assist.
  10. Mentoring and Evaluation Program will continue again this spring season.  I have found that this process has made our refs more confident in their calls.
  11. Running up scores in our U-8 League and in-town programs were an issue last season. Please inform us of these lopsided games.
